Spey Fishing

The river Spey that runs through Aberlour is one of Scotland’s most prestigious Salmon fishing rivers. Some sections (beats) are very expensive to fish but keen anglers may like to know that day and weekly guest permits can be arranged on the Aberlour water for very inexpensive prices.

Day and weekly permits can be obtained for fishing the Aberlour association water. Day permits (Mon – Fri) are currently £40 and weekly permits (Mon – Sat) are currently £200.  Permits can be pre booked and paid for by contacting Hamish at JAJ Munro in Aberlour on 01340 871428.  A maximum of 6 permits are available per day. Munro’s  also provide equipment hire and they can  organise tuition  by a local experienced ghillie.

Many of the local lochs and dams provide opportunities for trout fishing, for example Glen of Rothes fishery, approx 10 miles from Aberlour, has fly, bait and coarse lochs.
